Epson Stylus Photo RX700 All-in-One Review

The Epson Stylus Photo RX700 offers a fast and economic way to print, scan and copy photos. Easy to use,yet has advanced functions, such as direct prints from negatives, excellent image reproduction and six individual ink cartridges. Its microscopic ink droplets mean that even the most detailed images appear crisp and clear. Printerspot.com has posted their full review of the RX700 and reports-

The Epson Stylus Photo RX700 is an all-in-one (minus fax) that prints good quality photos and offers something unusual for printers in this category: the ability to print on CDs and DVDs. Retailing at $399, it’s double that of the Canon MP500 (though the RX700 can be found cheaper via rebates, as of press time). Is it worth the difference?

Both have a good amount of functionality: a photo printer with memory slots and adjustable 2.5″ LCD screen, a scanner, and a copier. The interface on both printers are intuitive and easy to use. And the quality of photos each produce is good. The RX700 comes out ahead in the quality of its scans, its speed (generally), and the ability to print on ink-jet CDs and DVDs.

There are a couple of issues worth mentioning. For its price, the RX700 should include a fax, and at the very least software to fax via a PC. The quality of negative scanner left much to be desired (we didn’t have any slides to scan), and it was unreliable to boot. Finally, text printing was on the slow side.

With that in mind, the RX700 is a good choice for someone who wants an easy-to-use, plug-n-play, multi-purpose inkjet printer that produces good quality photos and scans — and can print on CDs.”
