Mike Pasini, editor at The Imaging Resource Newsletter has posted his review of the HP Photosmart A626 Compact Printer.
“It wasn’t really that long ago that we fell in love with a Fargo 4×6 dye sub printer. Some of those 4×6 prints are still around but most of them have faded quite a bit. Somehow in the intervening years, inkjet technology has outrun dye sublimation printing, providing less expensive but longer-lasting prints. And HP has been at the forefront of inkjet development. The A626, HP’s new $179.99 compact printer, invigorates the best of its compact technology with a touch-screen transfusion.”

Lexmark has rolled out five new inkjet printers, three of which have built-in Wi-Fi support. The Z1300 ($25) and Z1420 ($79) are basic photo printers, with the latter having Wi-Fi standard. The X2500 ($59) is the all-in-one version of the Z1300 — again, very basic. Stepping up to the X3550 ($79) gets you memory card slots and optional Wi-Fi, while the X4550 ($129) has Wi-Fi built in. More details after the link.
Last week HP rolled out four new printers: three Deskjets and one Photosmart. The Deskjets, which range in price from $49 to $79, include two regular printers (Deskjet D2460 and D4260) plus an all-in-one (Deskjet F4180). The Photosmart C4280 is an all-in-one printer that features memory card slots and an LCD display. It’s priced at $99.
Today I’ve got a review of the Kodak EasyShare 5300 all-in-one printer. Kodak has certainly made some big promises about the cost of ink and paper on their new inkjets. Read the review to see if they delivered on their promise, and how the 5300 performs in our tests.
